Steve Hallard: Head Superintendent​
Steve obtained his HBA in History from Wilfrid Laurier in 1982. He then completed the horticulture short course in 1987 from the University of Guelph. In 1990 he received his Horticulture diploma from the University of Guelph where he acquired top marks and obtained 6 awards in the process. ​
Steve began his turf career in 1983-1990 at the Westmount golf and country club in Kitchener. From 1991-93 he was the assistant superintendent at Weston golf and country club. Steve accepted his first superintendent position at Cedar Brae G & C.C. in 1994 and stayed until 2003, where he took on the role of head superintendent at the Oshawa G & C.C.
Matthew Booth: Assistant Superintendent.
While studying at the University of Guelph for a degree in Horticultural science Matt began his career in 2000 with the grow-in/construction at Granite golf and was hooked from day one. After working at Whitevale and being the Assistant at Cherry Downs Matt joined the Oshawa Golf Club as assistant superintendent in 2007.
Chad Smith: Head Mechanic.
​Chad started turning wrenches in 1990 and got a job in the automotive field before switching to the turf industry in February 2000. He served as an apprentice at the Thornhill Country Club/Durham College for 4 years before getting the job here at the Oshawa Golf and Curling Club.

​Bill Walker: 2nd Assistant/Construction Foreman
Bill began his career in the turf industry at the Oshawa golf club in 1999 and has been a key member of the turf team ever since. His technical skills and natural abilities have allowed him to ​take on almost all construction tasks that are capable of being done in-house.


Lynn Anderson: Head Horticulturist
Lynn graduated from Seneca college in 2006 with a diploma in Environmental landscape management. She started at the Oshawa golf club soon after graduating and has been an integral part of the turf team ever since. Lynn enjoys designing and maintaining the gardens and enjoys the camaraderie amongst the membership​.​

Darryl Lewis: Lead Hand/Spray Technician
"Lewey" joined the Oshawa golf club in 2009 and has been a key staff member ever since. Originally educated as a teacher, managing turf came as a welcomed career change. Undertaking the short course at the University of Guelph allowed him to accelerate his new career path. Previous courses include Islington and Oliver's Nest.
